One Day at aTime

March 21, 2019

Do you ever feel like no matter how hard you try you get caught up in the daily hustle and bustle of life?  I know I do, more often than I would like.  I get sidetracked and unmotivated so easily.  I have a terrible habit of postponing things, and when tomorrow is here, I tend to delay again and again.  Tomorrow will be here, but then I still do not do what I planned.  It's a bad cycle that I cannot seem to get myself to break.  I get so frustrated and start talking down to myself, believing the lies of the enemy.

They all start with YOU ARE NOT

January 15, 2019

Here we are, halfway in the month of January 2019, how exciting is this, or not? (depending on which stage of life you're in).  We are fifteen days into the year, and so far I am doing ok.  In 2019 I got my Cultivate What Matters PowerSheets, and it has already been a game changer for me, but then again we are only fifteen days into the year, so I don't want to get too ahead of myself.  In 2019 it's all about cultivating what matters and making things happen, more importantly, make my goals happen.  I usually start the year off with a long list of goals and end up not accomplishing any of them...

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.  I was so ready to leave 2018 behind and begin a new year.  I feel full of hope and opportunity.  With a new year comes new opportunities to accomplish what may not have been achieved in the previous year.  Today a new chapter is upon us.  I pray we allow God to write our stories, and lead us down his path with a focus on him, always.  2019 is the year to Make it Happen.  I hope to change some habits and create new habits that will help me be more productive and a better steward of my time.

2018 wasn't so bad, but the first 4 months were...

Have you ever wondered what you would say to your 16-year-old self? I was thinking about it the other day and decided to write one to my 16-year-old self.  I wish I had a letter like this when I was 16, perhaps I would have avoided some mistakes but what is life without mistakes?  Afterall we need to make mistakes so we can learn from them, right?

Dear 16-year-old Lily,

16 is such an awesome age.  You finally get to get your license, but if you let your permit expire you'll end up getting it a little later than you expect, so take the behind the wheel test before it expires.

Ok, so I...

Wow, it's Friday already?  This week flew by in a blink of an eye.  We are on the fifth installment of the Favorite Films Friday series.  I am excited to share some of the films I like from the 60's with you.  The 60's was a time of change for the filming industry, in my opinion.  The 60's gave us some amazing films and once again I found it so difficult to narrow down my list.  I had about 80 movies on my list and going down to 15 gave me a bit of a headache.  Going through so many titles makes me wish that I could watch them all at once.  Unfortunately, there's only so much time in a day, an...

This past Sunday at church the pastor was talking about conflict and how we need to sort out whatever conflict we have with a person so that we can better witness not only to them but others.  That got me thinking about the conflict in my life, and how I have dealt with it.  I wish I could say I have no conflict with people but that would be a lie.  There are times when someone hurts you, and you want nothing to do with them.  I am in that season right now, so I feel as though this sermon was God talking directly to me. He mentioned the verse from Proverbs 3:3-4 "Never let loyalty and kindness...

Happy Friday, and welcome to another Favorite Films Friday.

This will be the fourth installment of this series; we are in the 1950's decade.  Such an exciting decade of films.  Again, I wish I could list all my favorites but the list would be too long, and I am not sure you want to read all of them.  The 50's films are probably some of my most favorite films.  The films that I will list are films that I have seen time and time again; they are classics.  I hope you enjoy reading today's list.

1.) Cinderella (1950) When Cinderella's cruel stepmother prevents her from attendin...

Happy Humpday and Happy Halloween!

Do you like Halloween?  For the most part I like it, I like the cute aspect of it where children dress up in cute costumes.  I, however, do not like how some people use this holiday as an opportunity to be slutty, and I don't like the demonic side either.  My favorite is handing out candy and seeing the kids so happy and dressed up in their cute costumes.

I miss being a kid, dressing up and going trick or treating.  When I was 12, I had the brilliant idea of dressing up as a skeleton.  I bought a skeleton mask and gloves, and  I wore my secon...

Do you like to window shop via the web and form a wishlist like me?  I do this more times than I should. When I'm bored, I jump on my computer and start dreaming. Haha... The only problem is I have no choice but to make up a wishlist since I am not made of money after all.  I don't know about you think, but I think that things seem to be getting more expensive and the quality is diminishing.  You have to spend a hefty penny to get something that's a good quality, and will last you more than six months.  I have an issue with buying an inexpensive shirt and then after the third wash having it fa...

Happy Friday, we are on the third installment of the Favorite Films Fridya series.  We are in the decade of the 1940's.  The 40's just like the 30's has a lot of fantastic films to choose from.  It was again a struggle to limit the list down to 15 instead of 100.

As I have been thinking about which films to put in my lists, I have realized that I watch so many movies.  The classics are still my ultimate favorites.  You can't beat them.  The cinematography is new for their time.  The films may be in black and white with quality; unlike HD, but the art behind it is superb.  Films...
