I was on Instagram the other day filled with boredom, and I came across some travel photos.  I began to daydream about where I would go.  There are so many lovely places around the world that I would love to see and experience all of them.  For so many of us, that's not possible.  Right now with me being on dialysis traveling is possible but very expensive and challenging.  I don't think it is worth the hassle.

If I could pack up and book a flight tomorrow, I would go to Santorini, Greece.  Have you seen photos of this place?  It is absolutely beautiful; it is such a stunning looking place.  The colors in the pictures of Santorini are gorgeous, and I want to witness them for myself.  I want to physically stand there, breathe in the air and take it all in.  It looks like a wonderful place to go to and relax.  I'd like to lounge in the in the sun (with sunscreen on of course) with a nice cup of coffee and a book taking in all the sounds around me.

Greece located in South-Eastern Europe.  Santorini is known for its Crescent-shape and being the precious gem of the Aegean Sea is a group of islands consisting of Asproníssi, Thíra, Thirassiá, Palea and Nea Kaméni in the southernmost part of Cyclades.  Greece

He are just a few pictures for you to see

Isn't it beautiful?  The sea looks so blue and green, so lovely.  Here in California, we also have a beautiful coastline with amazing colors in the water.  The Pacific Ocean offers us an amazing view with lovely curves on the west-coast coastline.  You might be wondering why I then want to go all the way to Santorini.  I guess it's because I am from here and have visited so many beaches in California and why not experience a new location and culture, far away.  Santorini is a place I would love to be able to pack up and book a flight.

I went online to look at prices and my goodness booking a last minute flight to Santorini from LAX (Los Angeles, CA International Airport) is expensive.  It was $3,079 for a travel time of approximately 15 hrs.  The more inexpensive flights were about $1,277 which isn't bad but the travel time was nearly 36hrs; that's a long time to be traveling especially when you can do it in half the time, but the price is more than double.

So, it looks like I will not be going to Santorini on a whim.  Planning and saving is a must for me.  Hopefully I get my transplant this year so I can start planning a trip here.  Pray for me!

If you could book a flight tomorrow for anywhere in the world, where would you go?
